Recipes from Carolina Bed & Breakfast

Fresh Carolina peaches in the summer; herbs picked from the garden outside the kitchen door; tomatoes warm from the sun; local Western North Carolina apples in the fall; home baked cookies, muffins and bread; jams, pickles and chutneys, prepared on the premises: here at our Asheville inn, our bed and breakfast recipes often feature locally produced, seasonal foods.

We believe that the trade-off for convenience in using processed, ready-made foods and mixes is the loss of flavor and quality in the final product. Part of the experience of staying at our inn in Asheville is being pampered with excellent North Carolina recipes, homemade breakfasts, evening hors d’oeurves, and bedtime sweets.

With that in mind, the following recipes are provided for you to enjoy at home and include some of our guests’ favorites. Easy to prepare and serve, we hope they will make you think of our Asheville hospitality here at the Carolina Bed & Breakfast.  For more recipes please visit our blog, The Kitchen Garden  You may also enjoy #Fridaynightbites on Twitter.

Our Guests Say...

We stayed in the Cottage, which was adorable! It is large, well decorated and luxurious. The daily breakfast was fantastic and we truly enjoyed the wine in the afternoon.

Clean, stylish and simple interiors and very friendly staff made this a top notch experience. Food was four star, fresh beautifully prepared and delicious. The bed was heavenly. Location was central to everything. We would stay there again and have already recommended it to our friends.

A Note from Your Host…

Summer is almost over and I know you are looking forward to the cooler weather!  Did you know that Asheville is considered to have the longest leaf season in the United States?  Color starts in late September way up in the mountains above us then reaches Asheville in Mid-October before heading to the mountains below in early November.  This year, once again, we are offering a very special FALL FARM AND ARTISAN TOUR of Sandy Mush Valley.  Enjoy this beautiful (and relatively unknown) valley on a self-guided tour, stopping at a vineyard for a picnic lunch and wine tasting then visit some of our best known artisans at their workshops.  This tour is exclusive to Asheville Bed & Breakfast Association Inns.  For more details, check our Specials Page.

Looking for a one night stay in October?  We have a few openings.   Please call 828-254-3608!

As if that isn’t thinking far enough ahead, check out our Biltmore Christmas Special.  Four floors of the Biltmore decorated from top to bottom for Christmas with an evening visit which includes rooms not open during the day. The fireplaces are lit and trees aglow as you tour the house.  This year’s theme is “Hearth and Home”.  It’s a Christmas tradition not to be missed!
